Conjuring creativity can sometimes be challenging. Here are five ways I use to jumpstart my creativity.
1. Put creativity on a consistent schedule. Schedule creative time on a calendar like you would any meeting (once a day, a couple times per week, whatever works as long as it’s consistent). Then respect that time and show up for it.
2. When you are in your creative time, but aren’t feeling inspired, for inspiration read or listen to other creative artists in your field.
3. Create something, anything, everytime, even if you think it’s terrible
4. Study and take notes on the formulas used by other artists and force yourself to write within the parameters of one of the formulas.
5. Search for images online until something inspires you, then write to that image. What is the story, what happened or will happen?
These are the tactics I use to get my creativity flowing. I hope they are helpful for you!
I’d also love to know how you kickstart your creativity, so let me know in the comments below or on my twitter feed.
That’s all for today. Good luck out there!
