You are living your best possible now

“So how do you know what is the right path to choose to get the result that you desire? And the honest answer is this. You won’t. And accepting that greatly eases the anxiety of your life experience.”

Jon Stewart

It can be difficult to forge a deliberate path in our lives. Some things will happen that we cannot predict. And while there comes a time when we must stop dreaming and start planning, we must also be prepared to adapt to unexpected changes. And that’s ok, change doesn’t mean we were on the wrong path.

A good friend of mine once said, “I believe we are all living in our best possible present.” I like to believe this is true. If you were meant to be somewhere else, you would be. This means you are now exactly where you need to be exactly when you need to be there.

What about those who seemingly fall through the cracks and are left out and abandoned? What about those for whom life never seems to work out? I’ve come to believe that even they are where they need to be.

I believe that those who have the greatest challenges in life are the most receptive and open to the guidance of higher powers, which allows them to connect with and accept that guidance. This is why you hear stories of people who’ve lost everything and then found themselves on a path that was always meant for them.

Let go of the need to know

Knowing you are always in your best possible present, also means letting go of the need to see or understand it at the time. We need to be humble enough to believe this and be open enough to let go.

If you find yourself spending time lamenting over what might have been or what could be, try to instead focus on being grateful for the things that are currently happening to you and for all that has happened in the past as stepping stones to where you are now and where you will be tomorrow.

There is a saying I repeat often, “things don’t happen to you, they happen for you.” I believe this to be true. Reframing challenges as opportunities or as moments of learning and growth can help you feel a sense of security and joy even when things are difficult or scary.

The only thing you can truly control is the way in which you perceive life, and through this perception, your reaction to it.

Our minds can play tricks on us and cause us to feel regret, but if we can avoid trying to force our reality to fit our perception of how we think it should be and instead go with the flow of how things really are, then our reality will fall into place.

“As far as I can tell, it’s just about letting the universe know what you want and working toward it, while letting go of how it comes to pass.”

Jim Carrey

Ok, that’s all for today. Good luck out there!
